Modernization of SBSH goes on. New drilling rigs are customized according to climate conditions in the place of its destination.
RUDGORMAS Company continues to upgrade the manufactured equipment. The comfort of the operator’s cabin is as important for the Company top management as the technical improvement of the drill.
Vladimir Glazunov, the head of Rudgormash design office, told us about remodeling of the operator’s cabin:
-New cabins manufactured for drilling rigs for ALROSA Company are part of our modernization. Our aim is to find a universal cabin for all types of drilling rigs. Before that any minor change in cabin construction resulted in the remodeling of the whole drill structure. This year we are proud to represent the cabin of modular structure that consists of interchangeable sandwich panels that allow us to change cabin parameters upon customers’ requirements. Take for example drills for Yakut mines where cabins have exit from the machine room and around leveling jack versus Stoilenskii GOK drills where exit is on the side of the machine room. If it was an old design we had to change the whole project according to customers’ requests. The new design allows to simply switch two panels. Another advantage of our new cabin design is air tightness. During the first start up of the compressor it was much more comfortablein the cabin, quieter and warmer.
Taking into consideration the climate conditions of Yakutia, the engineers applied a different type of insulating material which is rock wool and applied two layers of the total 100 mm.
Another advantage is university of electric equipment. We used to hide all the elements under the lining plate which complicated the mounting of the drill. Now all the elements are outside the lining plate. To repair the failure one simply has to remove the cable from the cable duct and fix it in a proper place.
The authors of this new project are Mikhail Kishkinev, the head of electric drive bureau in drilling equipment department, and Mr. Dontzov, the leading engineer of high professional qualification.
- We managed to design an insulated, warm cabin with a large window and high protection from dust and vibration. We hope ALROSA experts will duly appreciate it, - added Mikhail Kishkinev.
