On July 3 the grand opening of the Memorial Complex of the Great Patriotic War "The Legendary Weapon of Victory" took place on the territory of Rudgormash.
The author and initiator of this memorial complex, Anatoly Nikolayevich Chekmenev, answering journalists' questions, noted the main thing: “The memorial complex “A Legendary weapon of Victory ” is a tribute to our respect for the soldiers who gave their lives for the Fatherland, so that those who live today and all subsequent generations did not forget about their ancestors who saved the world from fascism". Now on the territory of Rudgormash there is a real T-34-85 tank, a divisional anti-tank gun ZiS-3 of caliber - 76 mm, and a list of 68 names of participants in the Great Patriotic War who defended our city and our country, and in the post-war period worked for the factory.
The event began with a greeting from the President of the company Anatoly Nikolaevich Chekmenev. Words of gratitude were said to all those who provided financial assistance in the creation of the memorial: tenants, individuals, companies. Then there were congratulations from the Moscow guests: the representative of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Andrei Petrovich Demin, who read the text of a government telegram with congratulations from the deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Member of the Committee on CIS affairs , Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Yuri Nikolaevich Mishcheryakov.
Warm words about the significance of the historical heritage were also said by Anatoly Aleksandrovich Karendyasev, Advisor to the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the V convocation. Congratulations were heard from the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in the Voronezh Region, Yuri Fedorovich Goncharov, and the chairman of the Bureau of the Left Bank Council of Veterans, General Viktor Mikhailovich Pakhomov.
We saw genuine emotions among all the guests of the holiday, veterans, and employees of the plant. There were not only tears, but also pride for the people, for the country, for the fact that those living today remember who defended us. Probably, there are practically no enterprises left in the city that attach such importance to social projects. After all, an enterprise truly lives only when there is something else besides the main activity of the enterprise. We have no future without history!
